Made a minimal app to doodle and Draw on pictures like snapchat

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 02:43 AM PDT

WHAT?

I released a small app to draw on pictures, like Snapchat. Link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pilanites.drawonpicture

WHY?

I loved doodling on photos and making weird art on my photos but snapchat's capabilities were limited to currently clicked photos. Also, being on a less powerful device, snapchat had a slow UI which stopped responding a lot of times.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH IT?

You make any picture better by doodling on it. Example of my own pic - http://imgur.com/a/CFcZU

THERE ARE OTHER APPS WHICH DO THIS!

I know, BUT I MADE THIS ONE. And, others are bloated and Snapchat doesn't let me edit gallery photos. :(

I DON'T HAVE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR THIS WORTHLESS APP!

It's ok. This one is for free. No in-app purchases yet. Might show you an ad here or there.

SOMETHING'S CRASHING AND I HAVE AN IDEA WHICH WILL MAKE THE APP THOUSAND TIMES BETTER!

Comment that thing here or PM me.

APP IS USELESS

I know, it's just the first release so haven't added any thing except the basic abilities.

I AM NOT DOWNLOADING YOUR FILTHY APP

Please download. You'll make this face very very happy.

I WILL NOT DOWNLOAD BECAUSE I AM iOS USER AND ANDROID SUCKS

Are you on wrong subreddit?

YOU LOOK MUCH BETTER WITH THIS MAKEUP ON

Thanks. I am gonna frame this photo.

COOL, WHERE'S THE LINK?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pilanites.drawonpicture

Thanks!

Suggestions for offline single-player campaign games?

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 09:14 AM PDT

Hey all,

I'm going to be travelling for the next few months and I won't have an Internet/data connection for a while, but I wanted to have some games on my phone to-go/offline. Normally I play campaign games on my computer (The Witcher 3, Sleeping Dogs, etc), but I'll really only have my phone on the go.

Does anyone have any suggestions for more campaign-oriented single player games? So far, I'm looking at the old RPG games on the Play Store right now, like Chronotrigger and Final Fantasy, but I'm free to any suggestions. Paid games are fine, but cheaper is a plus of course. And again, offline-based games only!

Thanks!!

[dev] I made my first Android game, a minimalistic "stop the clock" challenge, would love feedback from r/androidapps

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 05:55 AM PDT

link to app!

Hi guys! When throwing gasoline in my car, I always try to hit a mark. 50 euros, 40 liter, you name it. It just has to be a rounded number.

As an Android developer, I decided to turn this into a simple game. The setup: the counter starts when you touch the screen, you have to stop it at 10 seconds. I wanted to call this "10 second challenge".

When I finished coding this, I started liking the idea of building a game, and I added levels to it. For instance: in level 1 you have to hit 1 second, in level 2 you have to hit 2 seconds, in level X you have to hit 10 seconds etc. I also added a bit of treshold (between 1'' and 5"), depending on which level.

This is how I calculated the score for each level: Every attempt costs you 5 points. (Except if you hit the mark the first time). If you are 20 milliseconds off, you lose 20 points. If you don't hit the mark, you lose 10 points, but you can keep trying to hit the mark.

I had a lot of help from my colleague in testing and designing the UI, and he pushed me to integrate Google Leaderboards, so users could compare their stats to their friends or other players.

I have a few questions for all of you: - Overall impression: does it look good? feel fun? addicting? - Is the scoring system ok? - Does signing in with Play Services (Google Leaderboard) work? - How do you see this progressing? Would you like to see more?

Multiplayer? More levels? Extra kind of challenges? As this is my first try, I'm very curious about your answers! :-)

[Request] A reddit app that goes fullscreen

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 08:25 AM PDT

Having used reddit flow in the past I got used to this feature, and slide for reddit doesn't have this. Would love to use an app that does this on its own without having to resort to a second app.

App to stop other apps from turning off my music or turning the sound up/on

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 08:18 AM PDT

basically i'm looking for an app that will stop other apps and ads from Either Turning my Music off, or playing sound when it should be muted. If not those two then to block video ads completely

I'm all for Ads as it supports Dev's but it's getting obnoxious when i'm listening to music and playing a game only to have it turn off every few minutes or worse blast the sound when I turned the sound off in the game

Edit: A prime example is Futurama Game of drones. When the game starts or an ad is played my music will stop, if i go to another app and back to the game my music stops. When ever unity ad's play with other games the sound will play even when i turned off sound in game, this makes for some awkward moments on public transit

Favorite weather widget?

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 08:08 AM PDT

Hey guys, what are some of your favorite weather widget? I was using the default AccuWeather one, but I don't like it starts out with the background focused but then changes once you get back to the page it's on, weird and distracting, and no option to turn it off. What are some of your favorite free weather widgets?

Use one Android device to push video to another

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 06:14 PM PDT

Is there an app that allows one to push video from one Android device to another and have it play without having to press anything on the second device?

My goal is to be able to select a video on my phone and have it start playing on my kids Android tablet while we are in the car. This will make life way easier on long drives.

I figure there must be a way via wifi, Bluetooth, or even dlna but I can't find anything through my search methods.

I am not looking to mirror my screen at all, just to send the video to the device.

Looking for a nice 4x1 Clock Widget

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 12:45 AM PDT

Hello Everyone,

at the moment I am looking for a widget and I would not have thought that it would be that hard to find.

I have a 4x1 Space left on my Homescreen and would like to fit a simple Digital Clock in there. I don't want to change the Grid because it would mess up my other Homescreens.

Do you have any suggestions? I could not find anything on the playstore. All I saw was either to large or ugly like it came from the Gingerbread era.

Best regards.

[REQUEST] an app like Brave/Flynx/Flyperlink for youTube videos

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 08:25 PM PDT

Is there and app to stack YouTube videos?

Example: I'm browsing Reddit in Sync/Relay/Boost and when I tab a YT link it loads it in a bubble rather than pulling me from Reddit. Multiple videos stacked would be ideal.

[Request] Looking for a time card or punch clock for work

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 06:07 PM PDT

I'm a painter who works at various locations per day. I am looking for an app where I can punch in and out per job/day. Something with a widget would be nice but not a deal breaker. I just need to be able to type in the job name and be able to punch in and out for one job then type another job name for the same day.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Looking for keyboard app

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 06:01 PM PDT

Hey there all! Is there a keyboard app that will just add the apostrophes for contractions such as "don't" and "can't" as well as capitalize the letter "i"? The autocorrect option is pretty useless for me since whenever I type a foreign name or use abbreviations it'll just autocorrect those as well. I don't want a name like "Izanagi" correct to "I am go to'" or "Anubis" to "Andis."

I'm currently using the SwiftKey and I'm not in love with it. My stock keyboard is the Samsung keyboard and that's pretty bad as well. My old phone was the Sony Xperia Z1s and I didn't really have a problem with the stock keyboard. I don't remember how I set my old Sony keyboard settings (phone broke) but it didn't autocorrect any foreign names/abbreviations and yet could still add the apostrophes and capitalize the "i."
