Posted: 03 Jun 2016 03:52 AM PDT Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pjf.apptranslator What it does: If you haven't guessed by its name, App Translator... translates apps! Yep! Whether you travel or live abroad, and use local apps, or just downloaded an app in a foreign language, App Translator will translate it into your native language. A Swedish airline app, a Japanese bike rental app, a Czech mobile carrier app, or even an Italian pizzeria app are all apps App Translator can translate for you. Gif of app in action: https://gfycat.com/UnknownImportantArabianwildcat Where it all started: A while ago, I was visiting Istanbul (beautiful city!) and bought a local sim card to avoid to crazy roaming charges. I of course downloaded the operator's Android app... which was all in Turkish! How could I recharge my credit if I couldn't even understand the difference between the "logout" button and the "credit" button? I knew I had to do something about it, and that is how App Translator was born! Why it's better than Google Translate: It's not better, it's different! Google Translate and all other existing translation apps need you to select the text you want translated, then paste it into their app or floating window. The new Google Tap To Translate looks awesome, but it can't translate menus and other "non-copyable" text! That's what makes App Translator unique and so useful, it can translate entire apps, not just text you can copy and paste. Technical limitations:
IAP Microsoft and Google translation services are expensive to use for a developer, which is why I had to put IAP in my app :( You start with a credit of 10,000 characters (enough to translate a few simple apps), and can buy more through IAP. Or if you really don't want to pay, you can watch a video ad or refer a friend. Promo codes I'm giving out up to 50 promo codes if you ask for one by PM. They'll get you an extra 20,000 characters to start off! PM only, do not ask for one in a comment or else the thread gets flooded with requests! [link] [comments]

Facebook Is Testing A "Use Less Data" Switch In Its Android App Posted: 02 Jun 2016 10:12 AM PDT

Posted: 03 Jun 2016 12:04 AM PDT Does such an app exist? My wife likes to keep a paper calendar that is attached to the fridge but I am more digitally inclined and keep everything on my phone. It would be nice if I could just snap a photo of her calendar and have all the events entered into my google calendar. [link] [comments]
[REQUEST] list installed apps that I haven't rated or reviewed? Posted: 03 Jun 2016 02:06 AM PDT I rarely remember to review apps on the Play Store, even when I use them all the time, and there isn't an easy way to tell if I have reviewed an app - the list of installed apps in the Store doesn't mark whether I've rated or reviewed each app for instance. So, is there an app I can install that will tell me which apps I need to rate and review? Some sort of installed app list that lets me filtered to unrated apps, I guess? [link] [comments]

Apps that might be beneficial for a homeless person? Posted: 02 Jun 2016 10:04 AM PDT Hey, I'm helping out a friend who found himself living on the streets for reasons temporarily beyond his control. Are there any apps that might be helpful for someone in that situation? He doesn't have much money, and doesn't have a job. Thanks! [link] [comments]
[Request] looking for plain text app with Dropbox sync and Markdown support. Posted: 03 Jun 2016 06:06 AM PDT I'm looking for an app that can link with Dropbox and be pointed to a specific folder on Dropbox, supports Markdown, and has a decent search function. I've been searching through the Google play store, but not many can interact with folders on Dropbox. Instead they create their own app specific folder. I am considering switching to simplenote sync. I previously used byword, notesy, and drafts on iOS, so anything similar to those would be perfect. Bonus: text expander replacement? I use it on OSX, and would love to have it on Android. [DEV] Root Protector: Unleash the real power of Root Posted: 02 Jun 2016 09:45 AM PDT Hey guys, I launched this "Root Protector" beta-quality app now. Its data protection app. This prevents accidental or intentional data deletion by all apps, including rooted apps. It prevents file rename or permission changes too. I would really appreciate some feedback! cheers" URL : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.co.giis.nodelete [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Jun 2016 11:33 AM PDT Looking for a new lock screen (HTC One M9) that allows me to quickly change the lock screen wallpaper without having to create a new theme every time. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2016 03:40 PM PDT I save a Samsung galaxy note Pro 12.2" and the stock keyboard is pretty decent as it has a Ctrl button which means you can do regular shortcuts like ctrl+a, Ctrl +c, Ctrl +v etc. I use them a lot and find it much quicker than all the long press nonsense and fiddly text hi lighting. But are there any alternatives with similar features? I can't seem to find any. Or even just a way to skin the keyboard to look less dated would be nice! [link] [comments] |
