[DEV] I made an app that uses your phone's accelerometer to measure heights. Posted: 30 May 2016 09:09 AM PDT I made an app that uses gravity's constant acceleration and your phone's accelerometer to calculate how far your phone falls. This app was for my calc final, I had to find a real life application of calc. I figured some people might find it cool, so if you wanna check it out, here's the Link. [link] [comments]

Need an app for this function. Posted: 30 May 2016 08:05 AM PDT I'm trying to register to a game that is based in Korea which requires a korean mobile number and I'm wondering if there's an app that can give me a "cover up" number that is identical to a korean phone number but sends the texts to my phone or the app itself, thanks if you can help. Looking for a file explorer that does SFTP right, especially download resuming. Posted: 30 May 2016 04:03 AM PDT I'm looking for a file explorer that works well with sftp. It must support key file authentication and download resuming. Right now I'm using FX explorer. I like it very much, the UI is very good and intuitive and it does support sftp with key file authentication, but it does not let you resume sftp downloads as far as I am aware. It will simply start a new transfer to a renamed file. Anyone know a good alternative that does that right? [link] [comments]
Sync history between two browsers? (Chrome and Firefox) Posted: 30 May 2016 07:42 AM PDT For years I've used Chrome exclusively on my phone and desktop, relying on Google's built-in function to sync my browser history, on any device, back to my Google account. I want to start using Firefox on mobile because of its ability to use extensions (e.g. Ublock Origin). Is there any way to sync my Firefox browser history with Chrome/Google (since I intend to stick with Chrome for desktop)? [link] [comments]
How do I stop the lock screen turning on when I get a notification? Posted: 30 May 2016 03:55 AM PDT Hi r/android! I need your help. I use snaplock at the moment, and I think I still had this problem with the original lock, but I really need to stop the lock screen turning on whenever I get a notification. Obviously turning on Airplane mode stops any notifications, but I don't really want that. Reason I want to do this is because I have my phone in my pocket alot of the time, and somehow even though I have a bloody password, the screen turning on always seems to either call people, answer calls, or just cause all sorts of trouble. I got a Samsung S5 and I apologise for the noob question. Tl;dr How do I stop my lock screen from turning on when I get a notification. Also yes, I have tried turning off notifications for the lock screen. Thanks <3 [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 May 2016 07:18 AM PDT Does anyone knows an application that doesn't use power button to wake your screen or turn on your phone when you are drained? My power button just doesn't want to work for some reason. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 May 2016 10:52 AM PDT What is Sunshine? Sunshine is a new kind of weather app! The main features are: - Personalized notifications delivered to you every day with your forecast. You can train Sunshine to your temperature preferences and you'll get more accurate notifications. - Local weather map with live conditions as reported by our users. As you report the weather, you get points and increase your influence on the forecast. - The forecasts are more accurate than other apps, as we've been working for the last few years to incorporate your phone's barometer data into the forecast. We now have millions of phones acting as our weather stations and we're getting more accurate all the time! - Recently I've been working on Material design, specifically to give the app more meaningful motion, and to have floating action buttons, etc. Curious what you think so far. - Let me know if you have questions! You can also read more on our website: http://thesunshine.co/ - Currently available in Canada and the USA And the Beta download link again: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/co.thesunshine.android [link] [comments]
[REQUEST] Show widgets directly in the notification shade? Posted: 29 May 2016 09:58 PM PDT I found Snap Swipe Drawer already. It's quite nice, but because it makes its own custom pulldown rather than integrating with the real notification shade, the "physics" on it are weird: It's harder to dismiss with an up swipe, the back button goes to the app below instead of dismissing the drawer, there's still a darkened overlay on the lockscreen which doesn't interact well with the existing overlay the lockscreen itself provides, etc. Is there an app that can put widgets into the actual notification shade, so that they interact the way normal notifications do? Alternatively being able to reconfigure Snap to match the real notification shade would work, but it doesn't seem to have many settings and I've tried what's available. [link] [comments]
[REQUEST] Looking for what might be called a widget launcher or widget drawer Posted: 29 May 2016 06:59 PM PDT I'm looking for an app that allows me to put my widgets on it like a home screen but is a separate app. I've found Snap Swipe Drawer, but I'd prefer to have an app that I simply launch from an icon as opposed to a pull down from the notification bar like Snap Swipe Drawer. Anyone know of anything? [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 May 2016 01:36 PM PDT Hello, I've been using SwiftKey for quite a long time now and I really like the prediction system. The problem is Microsoft acquired SwiftKey earlier this year and.. we all know that they don't really care about user's privacy so I'm looking for an alternative to SwiftKey. Is there a keyboard app which has as good predictions as SwiftKey? I also really respect privacy. Is that combination even possible? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
