Looking for an Android photo app that will allow me to label pictures as I take them.

Posted: 19 Dec 2016 05:01 AM PST

I need to be able to take photos that are date and time stamped, as well as be able to put a ~20 character label on them as I am taking them.

Now, I have to download and label them on my computer, and I am hoping that someone out here can either:

A) Show me the error of my ways

or

B) point me in the right direction

or

C) develop an app that would be worth paying for.

[QUESTION] Pixel Filters

Posted: 19 Dec 2016 05:33 AM PST

Hello!

So I'm currently looking at to different pixelfilters (Link1: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=screen.dimmer.pixelfilter&hl=da Link2: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urysoft.pixelfilter&hl=da) And noticed one of them had a feature to change which pixels was turned off in durations, in order to avoid burnin's and the different pixels look different because of wearout.. Now my qeustion is, is it necessary to change what pixels are turned off? And is their a better app than the ones I've linked?

Thanks!

An App To Sort Old Photos

Posted: 19 Dec 2016 09:48 AM PST

Hello, I have been attempting to create an album for each year of our first 10 years of marriage and it has been very slow going. I was wondering if there was any app that I could use to sort a set of photos for the various pages?

So right now I have 2400 pictures from 2005 and I would like to sort them to fit into a 100 page photo album. Does anyone know an effiecient way to do that?

Thanks!

Alarm app that allows you to setup a pattern for days off

Posted: 19 Dec 2016 08:59 AM PST

Starting January I'm going to a new rotating schedule. Basically I work 2 days, get 2 off, then 3 on then 3 off. It repeats itself every 2 weeks. Is there an alarm app that I can set this way? I want to sleep in on my days off, but I don't want to forget to set an alarm on my work days

Pixel filters vs screen overlays: Power use

Posted: 19 Dec 2016 08:42 AM PST

Hope my query is appropriate to this sub. I understand to some extent but I am struggling to find a definitive answer in regards to the various methods available to address screen brightness and relative power consumption.

I am hoping a number of you can help me reach a general consensus.

Here are some scenarios, in context of a rooted amoled device:

  • A. screen brightness set to 50%

  • B. all screen pixels set to 50% brightness

  • C. Half screen pixels off, other half at 100% brightness

  • D. screen dimmer overlay set to 50% intensity

Q1: Please order the above scenarios in terms of screen brightness.

Q2: Please order the above scenarios in terms of power consumption.

Hopefully the answers will yield interesting discussion.

I suspect some of the above may be equivalent in one aspect but perhaps not the other. I'm also keen to understand whether overlay dimmers afford the actual power saving they claim.

Bonus Q3: Which mechanism does Cyanogenmod LiveDisplay use?

Thanks.

What is the best android Car mode app/launcher?

Posted: 18 Dec 2016 06:14 PM PST

My father recently purchased a car with android auto and my mother has been wishing that her car had the same functionality. I got her a bluetooth receiver for her aux port and a dash mount for her phone. The only thing I'm missing is a good UI to use as an overlay that would allow her to perform the basic android auto functions like music control and navigation without taking too much focus off the road.

I was looking at AutoMate since it has a very similar UI to android auto but I've seen some mixed reviews on it. If anyone has any suggestions for alternatives or can confirm that AutoMate is the way to go, I'd really appreciate it!

Edit: I forgot to mention that this is her daily use phone so it has to be easily switchable back to the standard android UI when she gets out of the car.

Is there a podcast app that can adjust playback speed based on a duration target?

Posted: 18 Dec 2016 10:29 AM PST

I have a 45 minute commute and rather than just telling a podcast to play at a faster speed, I'd like to tell it an end time or total playtime.

Basically if I'm listening to a 55 minute podcast or playlist, I tell the app to play it in 45 minutes. Does this exist in any manner?
