It's starting to shit the bed and just running slow and the battery is on it's last legs. What she loves about the phone is the form factor. Nice and small. Recently went to AT&T to see what they offer in store, and they don't really have anything close. I've been out of the phone loop for a bit, although I have a Nexus 5x, just don't know what other manufacturers are offering. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Posted: 06 Dec 2016 07:55 AM PST A good friend of mine has a 5x that hard bricked after the update to 7.0. she sent it back to the web shop where she bought it, and today she got it back. I've not been able to find anything on the issue being fixed on 7.1.1. she got it back running 7.0. does anybody know if it is save to update to 7.1.1 or whether I should downgrade her phone to 6.x.x? Posted: 06 Dec 2016 12:43 PM PST First i changed the download location to my sd card through adb android platform tools and when i put get install location it says external2 but when i go to download it says i need to delete apps to get space to download. | How to get space on a 16gig s5? Are SD cards ok to use? Posted: 06 Dec 2016 06:36 AM PST So I got a hand me down galaxy s5 (Verizon) as my first experience into android and it's been...lacking. The calendar crashes constantly and the phone slows to a crawl regularly. I'm wondering if its do to little space on the device? It typically only have 500 meg free. I'm running pretty barebones but constantly running into low space, half the time it won't let me sync my work email... I've gone through the apps and disabled one I don't use and cleared their cache. So is the 16 gig just was too small now a days? Or is there something I should be looking into? Also, I know it has space for an sd card, but I was reading that using one slows the system even more. Is that true? I did have a bit of an odd upgrade process with multiple failed updates till it finally worked. Would I be good served to wipe the whole thing and start over? Is the s5 so heavy with bloatware that I should look into a different rom just to get more space? | ok google detection/speech to text problems Posted: 06 Dec 2016 07:31 AM PST I like to use the speech to text on my phone frequently but ever since I've had the two week old samsung s7 edge Im having ok google detection problems, do you think it might be a problem with my microphone? maybe its the case I'm using (evo frame)? On my S6 Edge, I didn't use the gmail app, I used the regular email app which I like much better, but I don't think I can use that app anymore... Anyway, I can't seem to figure out how to get any notifications for my emails. It doesn't show in my notification bar, it doesn't show on the icon (like putting a 1 or 2 or 3 etc for how many unread emails I have) Is this functionality just not on the gmail app, or am I missing something obvious? I tried to root it without much success and when I did that I installed twrp, so now I can't do OTA updates. I found a "stock recovery" to try and fix it, but it doesn't help. When I go to the tethering and portable hotspot setting, it won't open and goes back to settings. When I do somehow turn on the wifi, it won't connect to anything. | Every time I open Google search it "restarts"(?) a couple seconds later. Posted: 06 Dec 2016 02:58 PM PST 100% of the time I open the Google search by holding the home button it stays up for a few seconds, then cancels out any typed text and closes the keyboard, then functions properly after that. This happens regardless of whether or not I've already typed anything in, and it will actually search if I can type everything in before this happens, but I usually end up waiting for it to happen before typing anything in to avoid frustration. This has been happening for a few weeks now and I've tried everything I can think of (updating google app, clearing cache, clearing space, etc.). Phone is a bone stock, unrooted Note 4 running 6.0.1 As far as I can remember I haven't messed with any settings or downloaded any new apps since this started. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

I can get a g4 (not plus) quite cheap, but my only concern is the internal storage. I've had the g3. I have moved everything I possible can to my 32gb sd card. I thought that double the space would be fine if I'm only experiencing trouble now with an 8gb (after a year of having the phone) but seems alot of people say 16gb , even with an SD card, is not enough?
