Posted: 13 Dec 2016 09:42 AM PST Hi all. I am looking for a cheap android tablet (nookie expensive than 250/300€) to be used mainly to take notes and read books but also to occasionally watch streaming TV and film. Do you have any suggestion? I saw that there are several Chinese firms (chuwi, and teclast) in my price range but they don't convince me. Have you ever used and had good experience with their products? PS I would also like something with RemixOS [link] [comments] |

Best Android phone for under $500? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 07:26 AM PST My Samsung S6 32GB was stolen at the weekend and my insurer is offering either a like for like replacement or £400 ($500) in vouchers. Should I take the like for like or can I be smarter with the money? [link] [comments] |
Android bluetooth headphone issue Posted: 13 Dec 2016 10:36 AM PST Hello! I have a Google Pixel XL 128GB phone. I also have a pair of BHS-430 Bluetooth earphones which I like a ton. They will pair with the Pixel XL without issue, but they only will be picked up as "Phone audio", which means they're only useful for phone calls. I am unable to use them to play music, videos or anything else. I have a Logitech Bluetooth adapter in my home living room which get picked up as it should, and I'm able to play music or anything else from it without issue. Any assistance would be wonderful! What happened to the Chrome Tab and Recents merger? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 01:13 PM PST Wasn't it advertised as such a huge feature of 5.0 at the time? I kinda forgot all about it but I used to use it all the time! And now the option to even turn it on is not available anymore. Does anyone know why Google discontinued this feature and how to re-enable it? [link] [comments] |
Moto X Pure YouTube App volume issue - driving me INSANE Posted: 13 Dec 2016 10:15 AM PST Howdy everyone, I hope y'all can help me with this as it's driving me crazy. When I play videos on YouTube the sound gets quiet (as if I were receiving a text message) every 5-6 seconds. I'm not receiving any messages or incoming calls. I've googled it but I can't find any problems like my own. Thanks for any help. PS the phone is only 3 weeks old. PPS it doesn't happen all the time. I was just watching some Billy Joel videos and it played about 7 without a single problem. I started watching a YouTube documentary and it started again. [link] [comments] |

In Call Volume low all of a sudden! Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:56 PM PST Just the past couple days I noticed that my in-call volume when I put the phone to my ear is VERY low almost impossible to hear and I had the person that called me yell out loud and it didn't get louder. This was the case a week or two ago and I am not sure how to proceed. I tried a multitude of ideas across the web but Reddit always has the answer for me! Any suggestions are welcome! Why does Exchange take priority over Gmail? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:56 PM PST So, all was well with my e-mail before I added my work's exchange email account. I'm on a Google Pixel XL, and when I receive e-mail from my exchange account, I get a notification. If I receive e-mail on my gmail account, I only get a notification maybe 25% of the time. Usually I have to physically go into my gmail app and switch accounts to my gmail to view my email that I've received. I use my gmail account for business, so missing these e-mails is incredibly irritating-- especially on time sensitive emails. Any ideas why my exchange email seems to be "top dog" on my phone while my gmail gets the red headed step child treatment:? [link] [comments] |
Google Keyboard autocorrect on Nougat Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:55 PM PST Hello! I have a Nexus 5x and after I upgraded to Nougat my autocorrect is stupid. I use Swedish as my main language and like all words that starts on some of our letters is gone from the autocorrect. I use the swipe feature in the default keyboard. The words doesn't have that red bar under that says I'm typing wrong when I write it normally but on swipe it does not appear at all. [link] [comments] |
Hangouts waking device on all new messages? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 09:56 AM PST Hangouts has started waking my device with every new incoming message. Version 15.0.141104777 on CM13. Anyone else noticing this new behaviour? [link] [comments] |

I watched a turorial to go into language and inputs' then turn off 'Hardware show input method' but it was already off and flicking it back on and then off did nothing. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Can only receive MMS messages from people on the same carrier Posted: 13 Dec 2016 10:59 AM PST So I've had this really strange problem that I have not been able to resolve — only people who are on the same cell network as me can send me MMS messages, which includes picture/video and group messages. I'm on Virgin Mobile Canada, using a Nexus 6P, on the latest beta version. Anyone who is on the Bell Canada/Virgin Mobile network can send me messages without problem. When people from other networks send me MMS messages, I'm not even notified that they have been sent (in other words, no failure message is ever shown to me). This problem has been persisting for about a year since I first got my phone though I only discovered this was happening recently. Sending MMS messages works fine regardless of the recipient's carrier. Here's what I've done so far: 1) Contacted my carrier. They escalated this, and had me give them timestamps of messages I had friends send me that failed to appear. After weeks of troubleshooting they assured me that everything was fine on their end, though when I attempt to use Twilio's API to send myself MMS messages I do get an error message (I've verified that this works with other numbers). 2) Contacted Huawei for support but they weren't able to help. 3) Contacted Google but they never responded. 4) Played with every possible iteration of APN settings. No dice. I'm using Textra as my app, but this problem persists when using the stock Messenger app. 5) Did a factory reset, but this had no effect. I'm basically at my wit's end here — if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Otherwise my next step might be to buy a pay-as-you-go SIM so I can at least determine if my phone is the problem, or my network (I suspect it's my network). [link] [comments] |
Is there an app that allows you to sync music between two devices? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:40 PM PST For example, a friend and I want to listen to some tunes in the bus, but with headphones, in order to not bother anyone. Is there an app that could let us share/sync music? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:35 PM PST I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, I'm new to reddit and this sub. With all the talk about RCS integration through Google Messenger, I got excited and tried switching to it. However, it's given me some issues. Whenever someone tries to send me an MMS message, it won't download. It will just attempt to download infinitely. It didn't work through wi-fi or 4G LTE. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried uninstalling and checking for the latest version but my issues persisted. [link] [comments] |
Updating Nexus 7 devices quickly Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:34 PM PST The company I work for leases out Android devices to our employees and contractors. We keep a handful of devices in stock so that we can mail them out as needed. Part of my job is updating the device operating system and apps before sending them out. I'm able to update the operating system without signing in to an account, but in order to update the apps (Chrome mostly) I need to sign in under my email address, update chrome, then remove my account. Is there a quicker way to update the apps? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:34 PM PST I'm sorry in advance if its against rules to asking for suggestions. So I'm looking for an android phone which will carry me for like 2 years at least. The first things first, I use a lot of applications at the same time. I want to use "ok google" hotword feature, I use keep/gmail/messenger/skype/spotify etc. Secondly, I want to use google cardboard with my new phone so gyroscope is a must for me. I live in Turkey and did some research on what should I buy and I came up with two phones so far, Samsung c5, xperia z5. 5.2inch is optimal for me, I dont want any bigger phone. SO my question is, do you have any other suggestions for me except these two phones and do you guys think that there is a huge diffrence between two phones? In my country, samsung c5 is 1200-1300₺(372$), sony xperia Z5 is 1800-1900(515 dollars) and this diffrence is kinda important for me. I'm waiting for your suggestions and comments. thanks in advance! How to get rid of unique "X" button on YouTube mobile app. Posted: 13 Dec 2016 10:46 AM PST A while ago a X button appeared and its purpose is to close/ minimise the media scrubber. You used to just be able to tap the blank space and it would minimise. Everyone else I know doesn't have the X button and I wanted to know if there was a way to get rid of it. [link] [comments] |
LG Android occasionally emits a loud beeping noise, like a truck backing up Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:21 PM PST Hey all, first post here so I hope this is okay. My phone does a loud pitch beeping noise every once in awhile. If I open task manager, nothing is running that would omit the noise. I am always set on vibrate. I have unlimited data so it shouldn't be a warning about that. I'm using the G5 if that helps. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Dec 2016 02:11 PM PST Hello, I recently tried flashing the supersu zip (through the app), and I got an infinite bootloop from it. Titanium Backup tells me that I have 16cm-su, which I assume has something to do with cyanogenmod. Does anyone know how to flash supersu without losing all my stuff? Thanks a lot. [link] [comments] |
Was my phone or something else just hacked? Posted: 13 Dec 2016 11:50 AM PST So I got this call from an automated messenger; thought maybe it was my hospital since I have an appointment coming up in the next few days. It goes like this; 1: "Greetings, is this: John Doe? If this is: John Doe - please press 1." 2: yes I am John Doe, therefore I press 1 3: "...Thank you, have a nice day." -hangs up- So now I'm paranoid. It was probably something malicious - if so, what just happened? Did they hack my phone, are they stealing my identity, are they cloning my phone to get past my phone-based authentication? I blocked the number just in case, and I realize now that they've been calling me every few days for the last few weeks - and this has only been a thing since I got my Pixel. Anyone have any experience or information on this? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
