[DEV] Hello to all the wonderful Android developers ! I'm a 16 year old developer and here's my first "major" Android app.

Posted: 30 Dec 2016 08:18 AM PST

Hello to all the wonderful Android developers reading this.

First of all , I love Android ! It's an absolutely amazing OS. So this year I decided to learn some coding and create my own Android app . Believe me , coding is amazing . I published 2 apps on playstore earlier this year but they were a sort of "test apps". After learning a little more , here I'm with my first "major" Android app. Basically it's a Zombie Shooter game .. but with a twist , you've to solve different Mazes( pretty easy ones) and also shoot the Zombies .It's a Crazy Maze Action game.

Here's the link to the app :

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ZombieGarden.AnandInc

One last thing which I would like to say ...

Happy New Year to all the great Android Developers out there . May 2017 be a great year for all of us !

Please try it ! Please.

[Dev] Call Puppy - almost-launch promotion

Posted: 30 Dec 2016 04:16 AM PST

I'm getting close to push the release button for a new tool-app. It's an app that logs your phone calls to Google Sheets / Calendar. Here's the description: https://www.uitcon.com/pages/callpuppy.html

Would be great if someone would use the app and provide a bit of feedback. The link to the play store is here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.uitcon.callpuppy

And free promotions-keys are here: http://www.play-code.xyz/ShowPromotion?promotionId=1483099558388

I would be super interested in comments from native German speakers. Does the in-app German translation makes sense?

Droidmail?

Posted: 30 Dec 2016 08:19 AM PST

Recently found out Bluemail (which I've been using some time) is not very secure, some even said they sold your data and kept the connection to your mailbox if you stop using it....

So I started looking for another one, and I have tried some, for example k9, which is not very good in my opinion.. (Sorry). So can someone tell me if Droidmail is what I need?

Need help Finding an app from Youtube Ad

Posted: 30 Dec 2016 10:05 AM PST

So i was watching Youtube in bed as always and saw an advertisement for an app i really want to try but cant find it anywhere.

Basically it was an app that seemed to congregate a ton of world news audio, tech news, gaming news etc and would cater it to the length of your daily commute. You could upvote or downvote particular types of stories. That's all i really remember except that it had a pretty stupid name. And i assume its fairly new.

All my searches for it come up with an old app that apparently Apple bought up in 2014/15 and then killed off.

Voice Notetaking App (aka Keep) but Offline

Posted: 30 Dec 2016 10:00 AM PST

I often come up with ideas for work while i'm driving and I love being able to shout 'ok google, take note, "xxxx"' all without touching my phone. The problem I have is the voice recognition portion... half of my drive is through an area with no internet whatsoever, so voice recognition doesn't work and it throws off the application. Anyone have a suggestion?

Is there a good note-taking program, or even one that will just store my audio, that I can use like Keep, all through voice? Obviously leaving something on doesn't work due to the amount of dead air and because I use my device for music/audiobooks as well. Thank you!

[DEV] phyphox - Physical Phone Experiments

Posted: 29 Dec 2016 12:56 PM PST

Hey folks,

I am the developer of an app called "phyphox" at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Phyphox let's you use your phone's sensors for physics experiments. To do so, phyphox is not just a sensor logger, but comes with ready to use experiments (including data analysis), a simple means to remote control your experiment from a second device (laptop, tablet or another phone) and simple data export. You can even create your own experiments (including data analysis and a custom UI) or change and extend the existing ones for your own needs using the editor on our website.

Download and info on http://phyphox.org - It's free for Android and iOS.

Here is an example of measuring centrifugal acceleration by putting your phone into a salad spinner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLCf05Hc83Y

Cheers, Sebastian

(I first thought of posting this in the TodayILearned-Subreddit, but after reading some guidelines I instead learned that self-promotion is frowned upon in most parts of Reddit. So, I hope I have found a spot where this post is welcome.)

Auto scheduling app?

Posted: 30 Dec 2016 05:21 AM PST

Hey, I was wondering if there is any app that can schedule things for me. Basically - I type in what I need to do and how long it takes as well as which days and when during those I am free to do said things. The app would then automatically setup a schedule given the info I gave it.

Does something like this exist? :)

Does SD Maid remove evercookies?

Posted: 29 Dec 2016 04:16 PM PST

Hi guys, I purchased the pro version of SD Maid and I really like it. It seems like the best alternative to CCleaner we have on Android (since the mobile version of it does no app cleaning), but there's something that bugs me which I haven't found answer to on the internet. The main reason why I use CCleaner on my PC is the annoying and wide-spread practice of evercookies in today's web. In short, evercookies are the evolution of zombie cookies, cookies which regenerate themselves after you get rid of them in order to track you better.
CCleaner seems to do a great work in removing them on Windows, but does SD Maid do the same on Android? My main reason for using it is the hope that it does so, if it doesn't I think our phones are quite at risk in terms of privacy...
