FYI, Verizon can see and modify what's on your phone without your permission Posted: 01 Sep 2016 05:46 AM PDT I called Verizon support recently too get help with my new phone. The support guy was able to tell me what apps were on my phone and modified it in some way that, admittedly, helped fix the problem for a few hours. I was never asked if it was ok to use a backdoor to get into my phone, and I was never told that they'd be doing that. He just went in and did whatever he wanted to while the phone made no indication that anything was happening. I feel violated knowing that Verizon can do this. I'm assuming that disabling all verizon apps prevents them from doing this, but who knows. submitted by /u/neogod [link] [comments] |

Sony adds full Camera2 API support finally with Xperia XZ Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:44 AM PDT http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperia/technologies/camera/ Shutter speed control Use maximum shutter speed (1/4000) for sharp images of moving subjects. Or try a slower speed (1 sec.) for a motion blur effect. Manual focus Decide your precise focal point. Bring the furthest away object into focus and defocus the foreground, or vice versa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w_5SJtLLYs (video review of the camera in Xperia XZ by Btekt) Still, the least min shutter speed from all manufacturers - HTC 2 sec, Samsung 10 sec, LG and OnePlus 30 sec. but the fact that Sony finally implemented that API is great! Hopefully not only the XZ will get this and we will see updated cameras in older models. submitted by /u/tanagoBG [link] [comments] |
