A new firmware update with build number 23.5.A.1.291_R4D has begun to roll to the Xperia Z3 D6603. Right now the latest build number is only live on the Xperia Z3 (D6603), but we expect availability to widen very shortly. This new update is expected to re-introduce Sony’s new STAMINA mode onto Marshmallow. We will include FTF firmware links for all variants as they become live. ÷ How to Update Sony XPERIA Z3 D6603 to Official Android 6.0.1 - 23.5.A.1.291 Global_Generic
1- Download and install latest Flashtool
2- Download also latest Android 6.0.1 - 23.5.A.1.291 for Sony XPERIA Z3
3- Paste the ftf file downloaded in step c) to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
4 -Open the XPERIA Flashtool, click on flash and choose downloaded firmware, than click ok. Important - if you do not want to delete any data of your phone, just uncheck flashing userdata.sin file. All data will remain in your phone, but sometimes it can cause additional troubles. So it is better (and I recommend that) to do the backup of your personal data, than proceed with clean instalation and then restore your personal data.
5- Turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
6- After few minutes all is done and your phone gets the new firmware.
That’s it! Your XPERIA Z3 D6603 should now have Official Android 6.0.1 - 23.5.A.1.291. Firmware on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.
