Sunday Rant/Rage (Jun 05 2016) - Your weekly complaint thread! Posted: 05 Jun 2016 04:02 AM PDT Note 1. Join our Discord, IRC, and Telegram chat-rooms! Please see our wiki for instructions. This weekly Sunday thread is for you to let off some steam and speak out about whatever complaint you might have about:
Rules 1) Please do not target any individuals or try to name/shame any individual. If you hate Google/Samsung/HTC etc. for one thing that is fine, but do not be rude to an individual app developer. 2) If you have a suggestion to solve another user's issue, please leave a comment but be sure it's constructive! We do not want any flame-wars. 3) Be respectful of other's opinions. Even if you feel that somebody is "wrong" you don't have to go out of your way to prove them wrong. Disagree politely, and move on. [link] [comments]
PSA: fleksy seems to have been Abandoned Posted: 05 Jun 2016 08:17 AM PDT It hasn't been updated in about two months now. Not even a new Beta release. The support website is offline, and says the domain is available for registration: http://feedback.fleksy.com/ People have been posting on their official Google Plus community, but have recieved no responses. They also aren't answering email. Anyone know what's going on with them? I really hope they aren't gone for good, as I love the keyboard... EDIT: I installed Google Keyboard, just for the heck of it. And woah, I might get used to this gesture typing thing! EDIT 2: Do you guys think Google Keyboard will ever get a theme that changes color to match the app you're using? I like the look of Chrooma, but it's consuming twice as much RAM as Fleksy did... EDIT 3: Chrooma is now using the most memory out of all my running apps... https://dl2.pushbulletusercontent.com/AIBqR2FCDutnq4y42T37LoJh5S0L7Jxm/Screenshot_2016-06-05-15-48-05.png [link] [comments]

r/Android, which phone was the best designed? Posted: 05 Jun 2016 02:18 PM PDT This post prompted a conversation about how phone designs have plateaued. For me I really like the design of the Galaxy Alpha - meta frame, a good sized display, and a removable back w/ replaceable battery - if only they updated the specs and added expandable memory, I'd be sold! What's yours, r/android? [link] [comments]
PSA: Marshmallow update on Samsung devices can possibly lock you out of your phone Posted: 05 Jun 2016 04:30 PM PDT This has happened to both my wife and few other people here at my local Best Buy apparently. Phones they told us are affected are the Note 5 and S6. They all used fingerprints to unlock their screen and it stopped recognizing their fingerprints and even trying. Backup password doesn't work and Google sign in doesn't either. Samsung booth couldn't fix it. Only a repair center. Android Device Manager wouldn't work, but I did find out that Samsung's account allowed me to lock it and then unlock it getting her back in. Just a heads up. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jun 2016 11:41 AM PDT I've been learning android recently and made my first app. It sets text onto the screen, which helps with reminders. You can set the size, color, and location of the text and it should reset the text even through reboots and app updates. You can check out some screenshots here: https://imgur.com/gallery/dPQNt A demo here: https://youtu.be/S9EEQDaH5oA and the link to the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dmbangera.deanbangera.peristantmessage [link] [comments]
My App : Sweech wifi file transfer Posted: 05 Jun 2016 03:07 PM PDT Let me introduce the app I have been developping lately : Sweech https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sweech It aims to be simple wireless file transfer utility to copy files from and to your computer. Open the app and press the start button, it displays an access URL. Open this URL in your computer's web browser and you can access to the files, photos or documents on your phone. You may also copy files from your computer to your Android device. It's like using a "wireless USB key" You may also browse the picture library to easily retrieve your weekend photos The interface is compatible with desktop computers but also with any mobile web browser (Android phone, tablet, iPhone or iPad). No app installation is required on the other device, just use your web browser The mobile's URL can easily be transfered with Android Beam (NFC) or a QR code. It's also possible to select a brunch of files and share them with a shorteded URL without having to share the complete mobile content The app is free without any ads or trial period. Some security features are proposed as In-App purchase (HTTPS, connection filtering…) but the app is totally usable without purchasing it. Feedback welcome ! [link] [comments]

Viper4Android: Do you use it, what are your favourite settings/mods? Posted: 05 Jun 2016 04:21 AM PDT I'm using a Huawei Nexus 6p, and i always felt its DAC was underwhelming. Installed Viper4Android today, and it's brilliant. I couldn't make out much difference in the phone speaker, but the difference is phenomenal over earphones and bluetooth car audio. I'm using Dolby Pro Logic II IRL, within viper. Have it enabled for just bluetooth and headset. Do you use Viper? Do share your settings/IRL/mods. [link] [comments]

Anyone else find Huawei Specs inaccurate Posted: 05 Jun 2016 02:35 PM PDT I spent weeks researching phones for my wife who has these tiny, peasant hands (I love them). Anyway Weight and Dimensions were the Number 1 factor. Bought a Huawei Y360 based on 118 grams weight specification that is widely confirmed. She got it and said: "Seems heavy". We got out the Kitchen scale. It is 137 grams. For context her Samsung Galaxy Ace was 110 grams (we checked). My Sony Xperia Z1 Compact which is a heavy phone (and much fancier) is 133 grams. So basically the weight Huawei advertise is false. It makes me wonder about the other specs. [link] [comments]
