How to Root HTC ONE M9 on Marshmallow 6.0 Update


If you have recently updated your HTC One M9 to Marshmallow then, you need to root the device in order to get a better Marshmallow experience.


Rooting allows you to do many things such as speed up your HTC One M9, install custom Recovery images, optimize the battery life, install Xposed framework and many more. As you can see rooting is a must if you want to improve the performance of your phone.

÷ Prerequisites:

•This tutorial is only for Root HTC One M9.

•Your phone should have a custom recovery installed in order to Root on your phone.We will be using TWRP Recovery for this tutorial.

•Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.

•Perform a Dalvik Cache wipe before proceeding from the Recovery Mode.

÷ How to Root HTC ONE M9 on Marshmallow 6.0 Update:

1- Download the latest SuperSU version on your computer .

2- Then, Connect the device with your computer and transfer the downloaded zip file on your HTC ONE M9.

3- Boot the device into recovery mode. To do that, press and hold volume down button, then press once the power button. Do not release the volume down button until the phone boots into fastboot or bootloader mode.

4- When you are in fastboot mode, with the help of the volume buttons highlight the recovery option and select it.

5- Now, from TWRP main menu tap on the install option find the SuperSU V2.66 zip file.

6-Swipe the button to confirm the installation process.

Your HTC One M9 will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time after flashing a new ROM. So, please wait.

That’s it! Your HTC One M9 should now be Rooted.
