If you are, or were, a “flash-aholic”, just like some (read most) of us were at one point, then you’re probably going to like this, especially if you are an HTC One M9 owner. It’s been a while since we covered custom ROMs, but, just as we did in the past, we’ll remind you again: tampering with your phone’s software could render it unusable, seriously damage it, and may void your warranty. Not that we’ve got this one out of the way,
here’s the meat of it: first HTC One M9 custom ROM is out, and, of course it comes from XDA Developers.
While HTC is doing a great job continuously improving the user experience (and camera) of the 2015 flagship, the phone is still not running Android 5.1. However, with this custom ROM you’ll be running this specific version of Google’s OS. It runs Sense 7 on top of it, and the ROM is based on the leaked ROM 2.7.401.1.
Aside from that, there are, as in the case of most (if not all) custom ROMs, a lot of bits, mostly performance related, included as well (amazing battery life and tweaks for best performance should pop up on your list). If you’re feeling adventurous, head over to the source link to find out how to install it, and browse through user feedback.
