[DEV] 10+ promo codes for Conjuger — a french verbs conjugator.

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 05:53 AM PST

A few months ago I published the last version of my app on the Play Store. To celebrate the 50th download I decided to give away a few promo codes but it seems like not everyone reads the "What's New" section. More than 3 thousand downloads later, only 2 users have claimed a code. The remaining codes will expire at the end of this month so I want to give them away here.

Here's a link to the app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.frantzoe.conjuger

You can try it out and if you really like it and want to claim a code to remove the annoying ads just PM me.

Please claim a code only if you really need the app and really gonna use it. And don't hesitate to tell me what you think of the app in the comments. Thanks.

Is there a way to NOT have multiple languages in Gboard Simultaneously?

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 01:04 AM PST

I always like Google Keyboard, because I could actually change the language without getting predictions from any other language. Using other keyboards, I always got Englisch suggestions when writing German and the other way round.

Now, with Gboard added to Google Keyboard, all languages are always enabled. Is there a way to get to old behavior back?

So I want the lanuage switcher to change between "DE" and "US" instead of "DE/US" and "US/DE".

simple, large, clock/Calendar/reminder app for elderly

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 07:40 AM PST

My grandmother has dementia, I would love to put an old tablet with a clock/calender app which would remind her what to do throughout the day. "it's 7AM, wakeup, shower, eat" "it's 1200, lunchtime" "it's time for bed'

maybe there's a childrens app that does similar? I bought some dementia specific apps, but none do what I want. I tried customizing with widgets/etc but that's still not getting me where I want either. she won't be interacting with it, it will just be a reminder if she looks at it and is unsure what to do throughout the day

any thoughts?

What are your goto apps on Android N, in regards to security and privacy? Since upgrading from marshmallow what apps do you find yourself using more strictly because of the changes from M to N?

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 02:57 AM PST

I have been doing as much research as I can but many times get lost and end up in circles or reading outdated info. For those of you that made the switch to Android N what apps are you using for security and privacy? And which apps have you noticed that you are using much more frequently because of the changes from M to N.

Eg. Currently Xposed framework is unavailable for Android N. That would be a deal breaker for many I am sure and therefore they may not upgrade. But for those of you who have upgraded to Android N, and are familiar with Xposed and Xprivacy what type of "setup" or apps do you find satisfy your security/privacy needs if any are needed.

Thanks!

Arcus free alternatives?

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 01:41 AM PST

I like the widgets, but I'm not willing to pay £1.69 or £2.29 just to get them to refresh. I have the met office which is free and refreshes for free, but they don't have the graph ones like arcus. Any free alternatives like arcus that are actually free?

Music app with a "shuffle" setting that's actually random

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 09:58 AM PST

I've tried my phone's native app and Shuttle+, but both of them will play strings of songs by the same artist or from the same albums, frequently three or four in a row.

My music collection is ~90 GB, which probably complicates things. Can anyone recommend a player that will give me an actually random order?

Twitter client with lists and regex filter?

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 09:55 AM PST

Hi,

I'm looking for a Twitter client that has:

  1. Lists: a lot of clients have lists, but most of the ones I tested deal with them poorly, being difficult either adding them as a "column" (Twidere) or not having a way to easily access them (official app).

  2. Regex filter: a lot of apps have word filtering, but sometimes you have to add multiple variations to properly filter out annoying posts.

A long time ago I found Janetter, which have both items. It's the one I used to use, but its UI is not the best designed, and it lacks convenient things like internal browser.

Any recommendation? I'm willing to pay if it's one I like.

Time tracker with dark/night mode?

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 02:40 AM PST

What's a good time tracker with dark mode? All the popular ones I've found just seem to be blindingly white.

I'm okay with android only. Material design preferable. Ability to manually input and edit tasks required.

Thanks!

Best free email app?

Posted: 20 Dec 2016 03:42 PM PST

I don't need anything terribly fancy, only something to manage my Gmail and Yahoo accounts. I was using CloudMagic but the transition to "Newton" slowly drove me away to the point where I'm now looking for a replacement.

EDIT: Tried out K9. It has all the features I could want, but I'm not a huge fan of the UI. Will give Alto a try later today.

Looking for a new file explorer app.

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 08:52 AM PST

After sticking with it for many years, ES File Explorer's latest update redesigned the main page and I can't take it anymore. So many ads and pop-ups for its other apps are driving me crazy. So if you have any suggestions for some really great file explorer apps, please let me know what I should get. Thanks!
