Posted: 19 Dec 2016 05:11 PM PST Even though the NVIDIA Shield is reported as out of stock, backordered, or otherwise price gouged; I just thought I'd share that I ordered the shield on Friday, 16 December through Best Buy online, and it arrived today, Monday, 20 December 2016. When I originally ordered, I received a notice that it was on backordered status until 13 Jan 2017, however that updated the next day to SHIPPED! I got it today, so YAY! Just wanted to pass on some Holiday cheer, in hopes someone else has been waiting to pull the trigger on one. Best wishes! [link] [comments]

PSA: New dS4 controller isn't playing nicely with sixaxis app. Posted: 19 Dec 2016 04:16 PM PST I recently purchased a new DS4 controller to replace an old-ish broken one. I loaded up the Sixaxis app and to my surprise, it didn't allow me to set the BT mac address through the app nor through the scripts on his website (both had worked previously on the old controller). I looked closer and it looks like with the new PS4, they updated the controller to go with it. The new one is model CUH-ZCT2U, so keep an eye out if you're shopping around. I've emailed the Sixaxis dev, so hopefully he can look into it quickly. Note: it does work wired with an OTG cable. Edit: apparently the text post submission page misleadingly capitalizes letters in the title, but doesn't keep the capitalization when it's submitted. makes me look like a buffoon. [DEV] Space Dodge: A Challenging Arcade-Like Progressive Dodging Game Posted: 20 Dec 2016 12:33 AM PST Hey there AndroidGaming, so after getting some feedback from you guys on our last game, we decided to remake the game under the title "Space Dodge 2". We have added many features, made our levels more interesting and polished the UI a bit. Space Dodge 2 is an arcade-like dodging game in which the levels start off as easy, but then slowly turn into nightmares. Try to reach to the highest score you can by using and improving your reflexes and quick thinking skills. You will be controlling two balls at once, dodging the various incoming enemies in unpredictable patterns, in fact, the odds of getting the same game twice is 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000004% (probably a few more zeros there ¯_(ツ)_/¯) While playing, sometimes hearts and coins will come, the heart will replenish one of your balls if any is missing while with the coins, you can buy some in game items like backgrounds in the shop. We will be constantly updating the game and would love to use your feedback and suggestions as reference. Every suggestion and idea will be considered and therefore, you will be contributing to our game and help shape it how you want it to be :) Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Questry.SpaceDodge2&hl=en [link] [comments]
Installing mods on KOTOR? (BOSSR) Posted: 19 Dec 2016 10:22 PM PST I've been scouring the www, particularly reddit in order to figure out how to install a certain mod for KOTOR on Android. I've searched forums, blogs, and several Q&A sites and have come up with nothing. Really, the only real results I've come up with have had something to do with an override folder which doesn't apply to this special case. I'd really appreaciate it if someone would be willing to help me out on this one! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Dec 2016 01:22 PM PST For those who don't know, the dev of this game made Implosion and a couple of its other games (Deemo, Cytus) free for a day or so on the Apple App Store recently. This game achieves so much for a premium mobile game, yet it left me really frustrated and wishing more from it. First off, the graphics are great, the combat is very fluid (it's like part Devil May Cry with a splash of twin stick shooter) and the story, while all over the place and not explained well, creates a very interesting setting and lore I'd love to revisit in a sequel. The campaign is about five hours or so and there's even an extra side campaign you unlock that features a different main character. Overall a good amount of content for $9.99 considering the production values and full voice acting. But there's still a few things that made me want to quit along the way. I honestly finished the campaign just to see how the story played out rather than because I was having a lot of fun. My main issue is that I found the game to have serious problems with difficulty balancing, and this is what mostly prevented me from having fun, especially in the second half of the game. The bigger monsters have recharging shields and way, way too much health even on the easier of the two difficulty settings. You have to beat on them for several minutes while locked in a small room. It wouldn't be bad if this was only occasionally, but it gets to be every level. If you only fought one at a time it would be okay, but the game will literally throw three of them at you with little breathing room. It's even worse because these monsters do tons of damage, and while it's dodgeable, their set of attacks occur so frequently that your window of opportunity to get a few attacks in becomes really small. Add two or three of these large monsters at once and I found myself just wailing away, dying, reviving and then repeating this for five minutes until the room was cleared. Overall, I found that when I got hit or died it was less because I wasn't playing good enough and more that these bullet sponges are just relentless. I could make sure to interrupt all my combos and dodge every single attack, but then it would take a half hour to clear every mission that might take 30 seconds to run through. My other problem is that the upgrade system is clunky and not explained at all, and the game never tells you what each stat does. Some are easy to figure out (crit rate), but I still have no idea what endurance does. Lastly, I hated the badge system. You unlock rewards in the game by completing levels under certain criteria like not using any ranged weapons, not using any skills or breaking all the item barrels. Unfortunately I found it easy to miss a barrel and using a touch screen it's all too easy to accidentally use a skill when you meant to just fire your ranged weapon, and there goes a badge. If you get a certain number of badges, you unlock a new character to play as, but I didn't even get half the required number of badges needed to unlock it after playing through the entire campaign. For a $10 game, I didn't appreciate an entire character being locked behind these challenges. tldr: Anyway, rant over, what are your thoughts? I enjoyed the concept but not some of the execution, so I'd have a hard time recommending it for $10. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Dec 2016 12:35 PM PST Hello, AndroidGaming! I'm a programmer at a small company called Lextre that makes mobile games and apps. Several years ago, I started coding Return of Dr. Destructo, a remake of 1987 ZX Spectrum game Island of Dr. Destructo as a pet project, but after I completed the desktop version, my employer picked it up for porting to mobile phones. So I'm proud (and somewhat anxious) to present you the Android release of my first commercial game, Return of Dr. Destructo! The game is a simple 2d arcade air combat, but it has a twist, which I believe makes it interesting: you get to use your enemy against himself. The planes you shot down rain down flaming debris on enemy's ships, castles and other war assets, punching holes in them. Punch enough holes, and the level's target will sink to the bottom of the sea (or the gravity well, in some cases). Try it for free at Google Play The game features 21 levels, 15 types of enemies (some of which you will come to hate), 6 different planes with varying speed and super-weapons, and two play modes. It's free to play, with some in-app purchases, but it's not geared toward monetization - I tried my best to preserve difficulty and challenge of the original. Which, I must say, is considerable - if you manage to get past the 5th level in Marathon mode, you're a better gamer than I was in 1990's, when I was first attempting it! If you have any questions, or if you tried the game and want to leave any feedback, I'll be here to answer you :) [link] [comments]
Timing Hero: Colosseum and Raid Posted: 19 Dec 2016 01:44 PM PST https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buffstudio.timinghero This doesn't seem to get mentioned much, anyone play it? The gameplay is fun and I like the retro graphics, but the UI is pretty horrible and the story is so bland it just gets in the way. The IAPs go pretty high ($100) but aside from a small purchase to support the devs I haven't paid any attention to them. To anyone that has played it, do you know any games like it? Ideally not f2p.
