What is your current favorite free game?

Maybe say why too? I'm looking for something new. I really liked Deiland but it's really buggy so I was hoping to find something similar to it. You don't have to say anything like that though, I just wanted to share my personal recent experience.

Galaxy Reavers - A very difficult space Based RTS (that I accidentally stumbled across in the play store and really enjoy)

Posted: 27 Aug 2016 07:48 AM PDT

Hi AG! I've been a longtime lurker of this sub for a few months now and have only posted a small handful of times. You guys have opened my eyes to so many great games, that when I found this title, the first thing I thought was, "I should pay it forward and let the redditors know about this!"

The game is called Galaxy Reavers, and it's made by a company called OXON Game Studio. I have never heard of this company, nor have I ever played any of their games (It would seem they only have one other game in the play store at the moment), but this game...... This friggin game...... This game will have you ready to throw your phone or tablet across the room, but in a good way!

So here are 10 Pros and 5 Cons about the game. Call this a pesudo review/summary of what to expect.

PROS: (The Good)

  • 1: The game's combat takes place in real time. There is no pause feature to allow you those extra couple of seconds to formulate an attack plan. You are literally thrown into a fight and only your wits will decide if you win or fail that mission.

  • 2: The game is VERY difficult. It is misleadingly difficult, and it gets Dark Souls levels of frustrating at times (but in a good way!)

  • 3: The game is free to play, and there is no paywall to really speak of. Yes it does have an in-game premium currency to help you buy the bigger ships or to exchange for the standard credits, but it is a completely optional currency that you can easily earn from watching in-game ads on a timer.

  • 4: There is no energy timer. If you want to play the game for two hours straight, you can.

  • 5: There is no paywall. Literally everything in the game's store (with the exception of 2 ships and one module) is purchasable with credits earned from fights. It is a very free to play friendly title.

  • 6: There is no gatcha system. Your ships do not need special tokens, badges, or any of that nonsense in order to level up; all they need to do is be in the fight and they will earn XP.

  • 7: The equipment is vast and plentiful, available both as rewards for completing missions and purchasable through in-game credits in the game shop. There are no restrictions on what equipment can go on what ship. You're only limited by the CPU power of the ship. If you want a shuttle to go into a match with an anti-capital ship photon cannon, you can do that.

  • 8: The controls are simple; you swipe the path of your ships to attack or regroup. There are no silly abilities on cooldowns that you have to press. There's no "SuperSkill" that you have to grind for and build up in each round.

  • 9: There is no ingame Pause button during the fights, so when your mission begins, all you have to rely on are your wits. Thankfully most of the fights last no longer than a minute or two (until the later levels, anyway)

  • 10: Repairing your ship doesn't require credits or upkeep. Between each match, there is a repair timer that will automatically replenish the HP of your ship (If you're imaptient, you can insta-repair using the in-game premium currency)

CONS: (The Bad)

  • 1: The game looks fairly new and very indie (It was released in July I believe), so the graphics aren't the most polished I've seen on Android. Don't expect brilliant explosions or eye popping menus.

  • 2: The load times for the levels can take some time on older phones. I play it on an LG G4, and each level takes roughly 30 seconds to load.

  • 3: The repair times between matches, though usually less than 2 minutes in the beginning of the game, can get a little tedious as you venture into the higher level missions. Naturally, the bigger ship you have, the longer it'll take to repair.

  • 4: The game is from China, so there is a little bit of Engrish in the game. Not nearly as bad as some apps I've played, but it is noticable.

  • 5: The difficulty curve gets very steep, very quickly. On one mission, you're breezing through with less than 10% damage done to your fleet. The next mission you're obliterated within seconds. It can get frustrating, having to farm the lesser missions for better gear just to advance.

So there you have it! If you have any questions, naturally just leave a comment and I'll try to answer them as best as I can. I am not the dev, nor am I affiliated with the dev, so naturally I won't have all the answers; but I'll do the best I can. Thanks for reading, guys! I can't wait to see what you think of it!

Looking for a specific casino game - hard to find

Posted: 27 Aug 2016 06:34 PM PDT

Hey reddit I've been in search for a casino game for a while, but with the amount of paid advertising for "real money" casinos it makes it damn near impossible to find.

Basically what I'm looking for is a free to play full casino that has a FAKE money stat that is carried over between the game types. Like if I want to play slots and make $500 then bring my winnings over to a blackjack table, maybe try my luck at some roulette or even poker.

Does a game like that exist that is totally offline with A.I. opponents?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I've been trying to find a game like this for MONTHS without any luck. I've tried probably 50 different casinos but they usually all have a pay-wall for fake money, or the app only has 1 casino game, or its online multi-player which I can't do (want this game for when I have no connection or data left).

Thanks again!
