Posted: 09 Jun 2016 05:53 PM PDT What is your experience with trial periods, vs purchase to turn ads off? Which tend to convert to a purchase better? I've written an app, and we were considering a trial period of 10 days, where the app stops unless you make the purchase. Would it be better to extend the trial period longer like 30-days, or give the user unlimited usage with the option to turn the ads off? [link] [comments] |

How to get that first sweet, sweet download? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 08:13 AM PDT In the past two weeks I released my first two apps on the Play store and was surprised to see exactly zero downloads to date. Of course I didn't expect to be "found" and see them pouring in by the thousands, but I thought there would be something! I have shared what I made on various social media networks and had good response in terms of likes, but still not a single download. What would you recommend I do to get someone, anyone, to try my app? Of course I am happy to share links to the apps on request, but I'm new to the sub and don't want to violate rules in terms of self-promotion. Thank you for your feedback! [link] [comments] |
Help: Getting started with app develoment Posted: 09 Jun 2016 04:19 PM PDT I've been coding for years using C++, Java, PowerShell and a few other languages. I'm interested in starting app development but don't know how. Is there a definitive way to go about it? Such as should I use unity, Android Studio, Eclipse? If you know of any helpful tutorials as well, that would be much appreciated! Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 09 Jun 2016 11:37 AM PDT Hello, I was thinking of a new way to monetize games and apps in general. So this method is basically : Mining bitcoin on another thread while the user is using the app. Would it be legal if the developer warns the user by stating this mining process in the app description and the terms of service ? Or he would be seen as a hacker/criminal ? Thanks [link] [comments] |

Ad networks that work in China? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 07:03 AM PDT I recently published a game that has gained quite a bit of traction, especially in China. Now that there's a nice base of players, I'm planning on monetizing it by adding ads. However, I started thinking whether or not AdMob even works in China. Does anyone know about this? If it doesn't work, are there any alternatives that do work there? [link] [comments] |
